Treatment Programs for Eating DisordersEating disorders affect people of all ages. While writing an article about mid-life eating disorders for PREVENTION magazine, I compiled the following list of programs that specialize in treating grown-ups. This list does NOT constitute a recommendation for any particular program. It is simply one place to begin your research if you are looking for specialized adult treatment. Our adult program is specifically designed to assist the adult and the carers (family, partner, friends) in bringing about recovery. Many of our clients are 30 + years old and have been unwell for many years. Our program involves psychological, dietary and family counselling (usually intensive treatment of several sessions per week), support groups, meal support (if required), stage-specific group therapy programs, and medical management and liaison. * * * |
